シリーンリーの個展<記憶の発見>を2011年8月1日から8月7日まで、福岡市中央区天神1-1-1 アクロス２階メッセージホワイエで開催します。展覧会は午前10時から午後6時まで、最終日は午後4時までです。入場は無料。美術展へのご来場、心より歓迎いたします。
2009年12月から家族と一緒に福岡市に住んています。これがシリーンリーの2回目の個展です。展覧会の目的は、シリーンの作品を見ていただくことによって、文化交流を進めることです。今回展示する作品と今年3月福岡中央銀行本店で開催した彼女の個展<命のつながり>の作品は同じではありません。
<<記憶の発見>>で展示する作品は画家の記憶と発想から生れましたものです。過去と現在、夢と現実、芸術と生活との関係を描いたものです。展示作品は、画家が訪れた場所の風景、場面や出来事から受けた印象やメモリーを具象的、半抽象的に描いたもので約20点展示します。
<<記憶の発見>>で展示する作品は画家の記憶と発想から生れましたものです。過去と現在、夢と現実、芸術と生活との関係を描いたものです。展示作品は、画家が訪れた場所の風景、場面や出来事から受けた印象やメモリーを具象的、半抽象的に描いたもので約20点展示します。
この記憶と発想から生れたシリーズは彼女の画の一つです。現地での写生スケッチとメモリーからの印象を絵画室で自分の感情として描くスタイルで表現します。ペインティングのメディウムは透明水彩、グワッシュ水彩、木炭、パステル、油絵とミックスメディアです。
どの作品も伝えたいストーリーを持っており。画家にもストーリーがあります。それを作品を通じて見る人と分かち合いたいです。

略歴
シリーン リー
マレーシア出身の画家です。1997年、マレーシア工科大学、都市地域計画学部卒業。10歳の時、シンガポール南洋美術大学を卒業した先生について水彩画を初めました。美術史と油絵の理論はパリのEcole Nationale Superieure dex Beaux-artsを卒業した先生におしえてもらいました。
2004年より、積極的にマレーシアと海外の両方で、美術展に参加しています。2005年からマレーシア水彩画会(MWS)とクラン アーティスト協会のメンバーです。2009年から、福岡に住んでいます。アートライフと作品を創造することを続けています。

“Discovery of Memory” Shireen Lee Solo Art Exhibition 2011
“Discovery of Memory” is the second solo art exhibition of Shireen Lee in 2011 following the success of the first one, “Life Is Going On”, which had been held at Fukuoka Chuo Bank Ltd Headquarters, Japan in March.
Different from the artworks shown in the first solo, “Discovery of Memory” showcases another series of artworks depicting scenes and images that artist either has ever seen in the real world or recall from memory and imagination, or the combination of both or more. Artworks portraying painting made in representational, expressional and semi-abstract way that based on plein air sketching, records of past memory as well as impression existed in both reality and dream. Watercolor, gouache, charcoal and oil are among the media used to capture the essence of memory and imagination of Shireen Lee.
The exhibition, Discovery of Memory, is held from 1st until 7th August 2011 at Message Foyer Gallery that located at 2nd floor of ACROS Fukuoka. ACROS Fukuoka was opened in April 1995 in Tenjin, the central of Fukuoka city, as a center of international cultural and information exchange. For centuries, Fukuoka has been a city open to the world at the crossroads of Asia and becoming a new hub of cultural exchange connecting countries of Asia. The name ACROS is an acronym for Asian CrossRoad Over the Sea - Fukuoka（ACROS Fukuoka). In line with the objectives of ACROS, “Discovery of Memory” is aimed to promote cultural exchange within the regions through art.
The exhibition runs from 10am to 6pm (1st to 6th August) and the last day is from 10am to 4pm (7th August). Feel free to drop by and meet the artist anytime during the week.
