Floria Putrajaya 2009

The Putrajaya Flower and Garden Fiesta 2009 (Floria 09) was a nine-day fiesta (1st to 9th August) that boasted of over 400,000 exhibits including flowers and vegetables. The event was organized by the federal administrative capital of Putrajaya (Perbadanan Putrajaya) at Persisiran Tasik, Presint 2, Putrajaya. It had been launched by the wife of Prime Minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor on 2nd August '09.

Delivered in stunning displays, the international event conveyed the evironmental message of gardening in the climate we live in. Visitors had much to see and do as the 6.07ha site hosted many programmes and activities such as drawing competition, watercolor painting demonstration, art and crafts exhibition, cultural shows, educational workshops, daily seminars on family gardening, green thumbs and hands-on activities.

The Malaysian Watercolour Society (MWS) was invited to help making this biennial event a great success. As one of the members of MWS, I'm glad to have the opportunity to contribute my little effort....... Almost 90% of the MWS members' artworks were sold. Congratualation, surprise always happens when someone or something meets the right person at the right place on the right time.
